Springfield, MO—A Missouri Highway Patrol trooper noticed an illegal license plate on a semi on Interstate 44 just east of Springfield this morning. When he pulled the rig over, the two drivers inside became rather animated as they were stiggity staggety stoned, troopers say.
Recovered were 1,350 pounds of pot, packaged in 55 large bundles, originated from Los Angeles and was bound for the east coast. For the first time, a conversation transcript was released of the arresting officer and the two men hauling the pot:
Arresting Officer: Sir, could I please see your license?
Man 1: Whuut?
Arresting Officer: Your license. Where’s your license?
Man 1: It’s back there on the bumper, man!
Arresting Officer: No, I mean your DRIVER’S license.
Man 1: Oh yeah, I got the bullsh*t back here man…
[gets license with great difficulty]
Man 1: Hey I thought’a somethin’ really funny, man… Your mother!
Arresting Officer: [after dirty look, of course] Sir, what’s your name?
Man 1: uuhhh… Isn’t in on the license, man? Yeah, that’s it! Pedro La Parcas, man, that’s my name…
Arresting Officer: [to Man 2] Sir, what’s your name?
Man 1: Whut? I told you my name, man!
Arresting Officer: [to Man 2] Sir… what’s YOUR name?
Man 1: [to Man 2] Hey man! The dude wants to know your name, man!
[Man vomits onto the floor of the car]
Man 1: Uuhhh – His name is RAALLLPH, man!
If sold on the street, the haul is estimated to be worth millions of dollars. The two truck occupants were reportedly trying to smoke it all in one cross-country trip.
