Springfield, MO – Cider Days is eagerly anticipated each year by hundreds of dogs whose owners bring them along to the autumn festival. Dogs lucky enough to attend experience a ‘speed dating’ type of atmosphere where potential mates of all varie
ties are easily accessible for inspection.
“My dog just loves this festival, he is so happy to interact with other cute little doggies,” said Josie Ferberson, owner of Cupcake, a 40-pound bulldog. “There’s so much tail out here,” said Cupcake, “I swear I could rub my nose into 20 dog buttocks, turn around and there are 20 more to sniff. I love this place.”
Organizers claim that canine attendees are free to bring along as most people enjoy seeing man’s best friend roaming Walnut street; these same organizers were totally unaware of the hyper-enthusiasm each dog contains in their hear during this time of year.
“After last year’s Cider Days I received a piece of mail with the words ‘make more Cyder Days’ scratched onto the interior of an Alpo label. It was strange handwriting and accompanied by several Greenies. Now that I think about it, I think some dogs were attempting to bribe us to have the festival more often,” said chairman of the Cider Days board.
To honor the newfound fans of street festivities, Cider Days will be known as Mutt’s Nuts next year.
