Man Forgets To Vote, Blames Lack of Awareness

"Why hasn't there been any publicity on this?' Quote from Fred Kitebiter, wannabe voter.

Springfield MO – On Tuesday November 4th at 8:00 p.m. Fred Kitebiter was at his favorite tavern having a few drinks and getting ready to watch his favorite hockey team the St.Louis Blues take the ice.

Instead the only thing that was on TV was election results.  When told that the election returns would probably be the only thing to watch Fred’s comment was, “Election?  You mean today was election day?  You are kidding me. Why hasn’t there been any publicity on this?”

As it turns out, Fred Kitebiter a professional time management consultant was too consumed in watching and listening to the seemingly year round political campaign ads and didn’t know when the actual election day takes place.  “I knew it was sometime after Halloween and just before Thanksgiving but I didn’t know exactly when.”, said Kitebiter.  There is only one person to blame because I am probably not the only one that missed out on voting.  You can only fault the mainstream media for causing this.  They may talk a good talk about the candidates and the issues, but little if anything is said about when and how to vote.”

When asked how he would have voted if he had gotten the opportunity, Kitebiter commented,  “Look I have always said it doesn’t matter how you vote as long as you vote.  Frankly after listening to each candidate’s ads and reading each piece of literature that I received in the mail, I am torn between who to vote for.  When I hear about the good qualities of one person or issue, the next thing I hear is their opponent talking about their bad qualities.  I mean this goes back and forth between candidates and the issues.  I would hate to vote for someone and then later all the stuff their opponent had said would turn out to be right.  As a voter I would feel bad that I picked the wrong person.”

I do have a solution for this problem”, stated Kitebiter, “and that is an old fashion flip of the coin.  Let the odds of chance and dumb luck figure it out.  That way has good a chance as any to pick the right person as oppose to someone that thinks they know what they are doing when they vote.”

Now that Kitebiter knows that election day is the first Tuesday in November he has made that notation in his day planner.  “I will be ready for this next year”, he said, “I can’t wait to see who the Republicans and Democrats come up with for presidential candidates.”
