Drug Dealers Question Hourly Fees at Parks

Dealer paying park fees

Springfield, MO – The rules have been around since 2001, but recently drug dealers have complained about fees for making deals at Springfield-Greene County parks. Many professional drug daddys don’t have offices; instead, they have their drugs inside their car. Their fiends choose a location for their drop and it is usually at a nearby park.

It’s $25 an hour to use the city’s public parks for drug deals, but many pushers are unhappy with what they call unclear regulations and lack of enforcement. “I certainly can understand the city wanting to regulate who’s doing business in their parks,” says Dale Plinkerton, a professional drug dealer, “but I’ve paid my fees for years for this section of the Silverleaf Park and people are always creepin’ on me.”

Dealers  in the Ozarks are not annoyed by the fee they must pay to use public parks for their shoots, but there is something they are annoyed by. “I don’t think the regulations are clear enough to give a practical mechanism that professional pushers can use to get the permit, to display the permit, and to keep sections of the park preserved for my business transactions,” said Plinkerton.

The Springfield-Greene County Park Board says it is clear on ParkBoard.org. It also says the city ordinance that requires a fee has never changed, but some dealers say times are changing.

“We have lots and lots of drug dealers,” said local user Vicky Threshing, “We used to have 10-15 dealers in town that were considered outstanding providers, and now we have 200-300 and city parks are getting very crowded.”
