Sedalia MO – After attracting a landslide of negative press over the weekend, the Missouri Rodeo Cowboy Association has decided to forego any reference of President Obama and focus on less polarizing political figures such as President William Howard Taft.

An MRCA spokesperson released a statement explaining that Taft was a Republican and after serving as the 27th President went on to as Chief Justice of the United States, the only person to have done so. “I think what they did was really racist,” said Shelbey Goins, “but now it looks like they are going to do it again, but with an old bloated white Republican….not sure how this is going to turn out. I’m actually more surprised that they found a Taft Halloween mask, it wouldn’t be a very popular item in my mind.”

“I think the Rodeo and the MRCA are attempting to shine a light on the accomplishments of this one term president. During the show the announcer will ask if a bull-stomping would be appropriate for his domestic agenda that emphasized trust-busting, civil service reform, strengthening the Interstate Commerce Commission, improving the performance of the postal service, or passage of the Sixteenth Amendment,” said historian Glen Prichard, “that should really get the crowd whipped into a frenzy!”

The MCRA will continue the Presidental Clown campaign throughout the year and is looking to pit other famous personas, such as Ghandi, Mother Teresa, multiple Pulitzer Prize winners, and Margaret Thatcher against raging bulls because that wouldn’t offend anybody.
