Give it a Rest…

It is not the first time that a reality TV “star” has said something stupid.  This time, however, it just happened to be about a highly sensitive subject.  So, when Phil from the Duck Dynasty series that airs on  A & E made derogatory comments about gay people, it has been met with much discussion by everyone…I mean everyone.  So, let me start by saying this…the guy is about as smart as my mailbox.  With that said, who really cares what he thinks or what he says about anything.  He may be a “star” to some people but, too me, he is just a dirty, weird, backwoods, bird-hunting guy that got himself on a reality show.  Everyone is certainly entitled to believe what they want…difference is, for some reason, Phil and his crazy family members get the microphone more than the rest of us so we have to hear about it.  What’s worse is that some people are actually listening.  I mean, have you watched the show?  You talk about the blind leading the blind.  Sure, Phil and his beard boys have been very successful and have made some great money selling their duck whistles, but that doesn’t make them smart nor should it make them, in some weird way, influential in our society…even if some of them have hot wives.  For all we know, right after that nice meal at the end of every show, they start drinking moonshine and humping the wildlife.  I wish them well but wish they would just go away.  My motivation, as always, is simple…let’s give this a rest.  We have much bigger fish to fry than to get our panties in a ruffle over something said by a guy that has more beard than brains.  Hopefully, by now, those guys are back to doing what they do best…acting like idiots.  And, America is back to doing what we do best…eating it up.  Nothing more…
